And I thought, how strange

from HISTORIA DE LA ESPUMA by Evripidis and his Tragedies

/

lyrics

We walked around
through the town of Barcelona,
past the roman walls,
a dark romanic church,
a tall gothic cathedral
a majestic baroque palace,
a colorful modernist mansion,
and I thought how strange
that all this remains
and people´s tendency to destruct
left them bruised but did not manage to erase them
and the soil beneath
remains the same
and there is a lot more to discover.

I went through
a pile of old photographs,
the party where we met,
our first weekend in that village,
that drunken night we stayed home,
those vacations on the islands,
a trip to Berlin, a trip to Athens,
the time we decided to shoot porn stuff,
and I thought how strange
that our pact remains
and our tendency to destruct
left it bruised but did not manage to erase it
and the love beneath
remains the same
and there is yet a lot more to discover.

Evripidis and his Tragedies Barcelona, Spain

Evripidis' pop inclinations take us for a bumpy, dancey ride across the fine line between tragedy and joie de vivre. ... more
